Does waxing hurt?

Waxing can be an intense sensation for some depending an individuals pain tolerance. Your first wax will generally be the most sensitive and will get easier with each consistent wax. At Sage Wax Lounge, we use a proprietary soft waxing method that makes waxing more comfortable and quick, too!

How long does my hair need to be?

If it is your first time waxing, we recommend having at least 3-4 weeks of hair growth after any grooming done at home. This will ensure your smoothest first wax! If you wax regularly, 4-6 weeks of hair growth is preferred.

What is the weight capacity of our waxing table?

Our waxing table has a maximum weight capacity is 500lbs.

How should I prepare for my service?

For waxing services:

Once you have enough hair growth, book an appointment and get ready for a game changing experience!

If you are planning you wax for a trip or event, you should book your wax at least 3-5 days prior to allow for any skin irritation to reduce.

Getting a spray tan? Book your tan at least 2 days after your wax (NOT BEFORE-it will wax off) to avoid any issues.

We recommend avoiding caffeine and alcohol prior to your appointment to reduce sensitivity.

Staying hydrated and moisturized in the days leading up to your wax will help your skin feel more comfortable, as well. Wear loose clothing (natural fabrics are best) to your appointment.

Avoid sun exposure, saunas, spas, swimming, excessive sweating, exercise and sex for ~24 hours after your wax.

For brow and lash services:

A patch test is require at least 24 hrs before lash tinting (bookable online) and will be valid for 6 months.

Avoid sun exposure, sweat, water and make up for at least 24 hours after your lamination or tint/lift.

Can a minor get waxed?

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parent or guardian is required to be present in the treatment room during the entire service. Brazilian waxes not offered for anyone under 18 years of age.

Do we wax men?

Our service menu is gender neutral. What does this mean? Our esthetician is trained to wax all bodies and ALL services, including Brazilian waxing is available for all genders.

Safety and respect is our first priority and any inappropriate or hateful behavior or language will not be tolerated.

What type of wax is used?

Sage Wax Lounge specializes in a speed Brazilian and body waxing technique. We use Penny, a hypoallergenic and vegan copper based soft wax by Enso. For services where hard wax is used we source Dermwax Elite Clear wax beads. These high quality products are designed to be gentle on skin and provide smooth, lasting waxing results.

What would prevent me from being waxed?

Skin Conditions: Eczema, psoriasis, or any active skin infections or rashes.

Sunburn: Recently sunburned skin is too sensitive for waxing.

Recent Chemical Peels/ Fillers or Botox: Skin may be too fragile immediately after treatments.

Medications: Certain medications, especially topical retinoids or acne treatments (like Accutane), can thin the skin.

Allergies: Sensitivity to wax ingredients or fragrances.

Recent Surgery: Avoid waxing near surgical sites until fully healed.

Always consult with a professional before proceeding with waxing to ensure safety.
